The Duke of Cornwall Hotel is often praised for its fascinating and historic building, conveniently located near the Plymouth Pavilions, the Barbican, and within walking distance of the theatres. Many guests find the rooms lovely, warm, spacious, and traditionally decorated, and some have specifically enjoyed the large beds and clean, large bathrooms. While a few guests have noted that the hotel shows signs of age, the grand appearance and excellent breakfast, complete with a good choice of continental options, make it a worthwhile experience.
